Upon subscribing to a pop up, it's pretty common a brand will associate the pop up or keyword sent to the shopper with an automation flow. This way, they can continue to send them communications about the brand, products, and remind them about their offer.

Since our initial focus with brands is adding CashBack to their welcome series, we will walk through creating a welcome automation that sends to shoppers upon pop up submission.


  1. Click Messaging > Automations > locate a brand's current welcome automation > Clone
  2. Rename automation to reflect CashBack (ex: Welcome Series 20% Back)
  3. Under Automation Trigger > Subscriber Created (Pop Up, Keyword or API)
    1. This will send this automation to all shoppers who subscribe to the on site pop ups
  4. Click Save & Continue to Messages
  5. Update all messages within the flow to include CashBack language and CashBack links
    1. Note that the offer might now be present in all messages of a flow, so only update the messages that mention the % off offer and switch these to CashBack
  6. Click Save Automation
