Postscript | A/B Testing

IMPORTANT: Postscript can A/B test if a brand uses SMS only or if a brand's email service provider is Klaviyo. If a brand uses a different ESP, this is not currently possible.

Part One: Create/Update your Klaviyo Flows

For detailed instructions on how to create a CashBack Klaviyo email flow, click here.

Since the Postscript popups will send to two separate Klaviyo lists, there must be two Klaviyo email flows—one associated with each respective list.

  1. Click Flows > locate the % off flow and ensure the trigger is your desired list (ex: Newsletter)
  2. Locate (or create) the CashBack flow and ensure the trigger is your desired list (ex: CashBack Newslatter)
    1. Recommended: create a new list for the CashBack arm of the flow so an existing list isn't being taken over by this test
      1. Click Audience > Lists & Segments > Create List/Segment
      2. Click List > Name > enter CashBack Newsletter > Create List

IMPORTANT: These lists must match the lists you select for the corresponding popups in Postscript, as this is the identifier that sends information from Postscript to Klaviyo.

Part Two: Create A/B Test in Postscript

  1. Click Acquisition > Popups
  2. Select the first popup for your A/B test
  3. Click Custom Step > Form > email lists
  4. Select the Klaviyo list you'd like your % off popup to submit to
    1. The list you select should match the list in your Klaviyo trigger from the email flows in Part One (ex: Newsletter and CashBack Newsletter)
  5. Click Save
  6. Repeat steps for the CashBack popup of A/B test
  7. Return to Popups > Create > A/B Test
  8. Click Mobile/Desktop > Create Test
  9. Enter a name for the A/B test
  10. For Variant 1 and Variant 2, select the popups you created in the steps above
  11. Click Start Test

IMPORTANT: Once the A/B test is complete and CashBack has won, you can update your triggers to ensure all shoppers are being submitted to the general newsletter list.
